Valerie, was my Grandma who passed away in September 2025. Her real name was Evelyn Valerie but everyone just called her Val. She suffered with Dementia in the final few years of her life so this page is dedicated to her. She taught me so much and I vow to always pass on her knowledge and keep her legacy alive.

Who is Evie?

I am Val’s youngest Granddaughter and was named after her. I spent years growing up around her home. I chose to spend my weekends watching Catherine Cookson and going to Bingo with my Grandma. I changed my career to go into activity planning in care homes a few years after Grandma was diagnosed with Dementia and I am now very lucky to call my self ‘Activities Lead’ at a care home in Devon. I created this site to share any of the resources I make so other homes and elderly residents can benefit from them too. I pride myself in constantly learning new ways to engage residents with complex emotional needs. I hope you find this helpful and that Grandma’s name lives on forever through this.
